Re: Need advice on salvaging CDs

Thanks for the advice, ladies. Right now they are bagged up on the stoop waiting for hubbie to come home. I tried rinsing them out in the tub, but I was gagging so much I had to stop.

And pictures? Hell yes, I got pictures. Between my blog and the need to keep my husband feeling guilty for months to come, I've got the evidence.

Hang on while I download them...

try this.....

-spray off outside like pp said to get all the loose gunk and mushrooms off diapers
-dump in the washing machine with full strength oxiclean. read the directions on the back for their "power soak" and use that mixture.
--leave sit overnight in this mix with water completelty covering them
--drain in the morning and do 2 full wash cylce with the normal soap you use and an extra rinse at the end.

that should do the trick. if not--pm me and maybe i can think of something else to try!! good luck!!
I'm with her. A teeny bit of bleach goes a long way. Oxiclean is amazing stuff. If they're too stinky to put IN the washing machine, see if you can do some type of outside soak in oxiclean.

And I want to see pics too!

Re: Need advice on salvaging CDs

I have no practical advice for you mama (sorry) but I just wanted to empathize. If my DH did that, I would kick him hard in the rear end and give him a VERY hard time about it!
ETA: I'm DYING to see the pics. Showing them to my DH will stop him from giving me a hard time about daily washing

Re: Need advice on salvaging CDs

Had a similar incident last year with mine, my youngest spent 4 weeks in the hospital and the diapers sat for a month and a half, lets just say the bottom of the pail (all ME Sandy's fitted) were slime and mildew...no mushrooms though! I went with bleach, vineger, and multiple hot washes..learned from this not to do bleach as they all got blad and some even completely fell apart, DH was so mad at me for wasting all that money! I would look into the Bac-Out stuff maybe. Or as pp says spray off, oxy clean soak and wash wash wash...add some prayers and hope. On the bright side dye always covers stains Good luck mama and much sympathy!

Okay, it won't let me post the pics because I no longer have more than ten posts. Let me spam for a second...
