Re: Medela Steam Sterilizer Bags

I love the Medela bags! Breast pump parts, pacifiers, bottles....So much easier than boiling.

I loved the bags. Word to the wise they are very hot when they come out of the microwave. I know it sounds like common sense but the steam is super hot. If I remember correctly they have a little hole in them to vent the steam. That is where I accidently picked it up out of the microwave and burnt my hand. Serious burn! They are wonderful just use caution w/the steam.

I loved them . I pumped for a little while to donate and still pump sometimes for my son. They are really easy to use - I do use them past the 20 uses though (not sure if it's good idea, but I'm cheap).

Why do I always grab the bag by that opening and burn myself? Everytime.

Re: Medela Steam Sterilizer Bags

I'm just using these for the first time and I have a quick question:

How on earth can you cover the tubes with 4 oz of water?? Am I totally missing something? I just added more water until they were covered, but I feel like something is eluding me.

Thanks!

I have mostly used mine for breastshields and bottles but I used it for the tubing once. It made them cloudy but they eventually cleared up after a while. As far as I understand the process, because its steam thats cleaning the parts, they don't have to be covered by the water.
HTH
Since this post was last week, you probably already figured it out anyways.
