Not sure which car accident pictures you are looking for, this site shows a compairison of two vans and how they crumple in a frontal crash.

You have to scroll down a little ways. Is that what you were asking for?

If you're looking for the videos of rear-facing vs forward-facing, they're linked to at the bottom of this page: http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/stayrearfacing.aspx

I was just looking for the videos that show the difference between a 5 pt harness (forward-facing) and a booster seat, because that's also pretty convincing for encouraging keeping kids harnessed longer, rather than going to a booster as soon as they're big enough, but I can't find it right now. The statistical data on that, especially for 3 and 4 year olds is pretty convicting.

After watching those videos, I want to put my 4 year old back in a 5-point! I can't believe the difference in rear VS forward! I also want to turn her around...she is just so tall! My 10 month old will be rear-facing as LONG as possible!

I know--aren't those videos freaky?! You don't realize what kind of forces are involved in a crash until you really see it. I just found the ones for harnessed vs booster--these are the ones that convinced me to keep my oldest dd in a harness as long as possible:

Harnessed:

(also check out how much better the rf child next to it looks)

Booster:

mine is 14 months and still rear facing though my mom yelled at me and my gf argued until she read the seat limit is 30lbs and i told her hes about 25, she shut up too (her kids are 15, 12, and 12 and she said all hers were turned at 1 and her middle one was teensy but she was told to)

Re: Is your 1, 2 or 3 year old rear facing in the car?

ALSO DON'T forget how important TETHERING your seat in, that is ONE BIG SAFETY feature Britax offers that no other brand offers is rear facing tethers! I have tried (and owned sad but true) every brand of seat and Britax is by far the best..the ease of use, the straps don't twist, they are sturdy and the new seats go to 65 pounds so you will be able to use it longer which lowers your overall costs in boosters, you can go from the convertible 5-65 pound seat to a backless booster to 80-100 pounds...But lets not forget, it may be a hard chunk of change to swallow but it is an investment and just think you will use it for YEARS to come so if you devide it by 5 or 6 years it's PENNIES a day! Or you can waste thousands on trying out every seat until you finally give into Britax and are finally pleased, LIKE ME haha but the next time around I know what brand I will buy...(not that the other brands are bad I just prefer Britax, heck my son is in an alpha omega in the rear facing pic, but he very soon after outgrew it and went right into a fisher price futura the only other seat on the market at that time that went to 60 pounds then we quickly went to the husky after we were on the waiting list for some time)Anyhow here's another photo of the difference of a tethered seat compared to one not tethered....

I am not good at posting links to video, so thank you all for doing that. It really does make a difference to see the child in a crash test and see what happens to their body.

We turned our dd around when she was about 15 months old and 20 lbs. I think the carseat said turn around at 20 lbs but good until 25. She was just to long to have her facing back anymore, poor legs were always crunched up.
