Baby Einstein?

I didn't really want DD to watch TV at all, but she seems fascinated by it. I can have her facing away from it, and she'll crane her neck around to get a glimpse. She loves to look at everything (people, books, etc...) so I guess the TV is no different. My question is which Baby Einstein DVDs would you recommend? If she's going to watch it, I'd like it to at least be constructive, you know?

There are a bunch that are great, but Baby Mozart is one of our favs. I have the single DVD of that one for sale if interested! We just bought the 21 disk box set for the kids for X-mas!

Re: Baby Einstein?

We got the set from costco for Christmas of 2004 when our daughter was 4 months old. She loved them then and still does (she's 2 now). The key is to limit it to a reasonable amount of time. I can tell you though I don't think I would have dinner ready on time nearly as often as I do w/o them! Her favorite is Neighborhood Animals (she calls it "E-I-E-I-O" because the song Old MacDonald is on it). I hope your little ones like them as much as mine!

In moderation, I think they're great! Their age recommendations seem to be right on too. So, at 3 months Baby Mozart was a big hit with DD. Her favorites, even now, are Baby McDonald and Baby da Vinci (recommended for 9+ months).

DS has loved baby neptune, baby bach, and baby einstein language nursery since he was an infant, and still does. He also loves baby davinci, noah, mcdonald and wordsworth!! I guess we really haven't met one we haven't enjoyed! Just make sure you stick to the ones near their ability level... Alex was usually about 6 months ahead of his age range.

ETA: As he has gotten older, he has liked to go back and watch the ones from when he was a baby and loves them even more as he can name and describe the things in them, and find humor in the pupet shows!

Depends on age. My favorites are Baby Neptune and Baby Galileo, but DS isn't as fond of them. He will watch Baby Galileo, but not Neptune.

He loves Bach and Mozart.

Personally, we're bigger fans of Praise Baby and VeggieTales.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.
