Teething Infant and a Two Year Old... HELP!

Okay so we wanted our kiddos close so they could be buddies but our little guy just started teething and our daughter just turned 2 and I think we wish they were further apart. DD hasn't napped since she was 1 so I get no breaks from double duty during the day. With DS hurting all day my heart just breaks for the little guy. We've tried to give him tylenol but he throws up everytime we give him any sort of medication. Teething tablets seem to have not effect. I'm sure the constant crying is stressful for DD and I know it's adding to her neediness and naughtiness. The only thing that seems to make DS feel better is nursing. I'm sure chomping on my bb makes his gums feel better but I really can't nurse him 24/7 with a 2 year old around. He's never taken a pacifier and won't have anything to do with teething toys. How you handle this? I know a ton of you have been there done that. Any tips for coping?

Re: Teething Infant and a Two Year Old... HELP!

One thing that helped my ds was a baby washcloth (thin material), dampened, and then frozen until it was crunchy. It didn't help for long, but for a few minutes, he would gnaw and suck on that and it seemed to help.

Hugs, mama, these are hard days! I'm there and have been there myself . . . keep up the good work for those beautiful kiddos!

I must be really lucky b/c Hyland's tablets work for both my 9 mo & my 3 yo teethers. Sounds like NO FUN!

I'm excited to try the washcloth in the freezer idea. DS does like to suck on cloth (weird I know but DH did it too--as a babe of course!). It's chillin' in there now.

Hylands was our miracle cure for DD but DS has no response... Ugh.

I heard great things about Hyland's but never tried it. The washcloth tricked worked for my 2 DS. Alex just wanted to nurse forever though, that seemed to make him feel better.
I hope the washcloth works for you!
