WHY is my serger eating the fabric????? *PICS added*

Why would my serger be doing this???? It's on the underside of the fabric and it's literally chewing a 'cut' in the fabric. The cut doesn't show until the item is washed/dried and then its obvious!!!!

I've tried:
1. changing needle size to a VERY thin needle
2. rethreading/adjusting tensions

I't MUST have something to do with the feed foot????? I'll call the Bernina store in the AM, but I'm totally frustrated!!!!

I made Olivia 5 prefitteds last night and they ALL are doing this! Thank goodness they are hers and not for customers, but I'm just waiting for the complaint emails to come rollin' in! I'm so frustrated I could cry !

UPDATE: It was the pins in the needle plate!

I would agree, there must be something sharp on or in you feed dog area. I'd take off the cover and look for something that might have fallen in like a broken needle piece. Hope it's an easy fix.

I think having a serger is like a rocky marriage.... everythings going just great, happy, wonderful, then BAM!!! It all goes to pot, then it's fixed and your happy again. Seriously, I've cried more about my sewing machine and serger being retarded (usually only when I have a huge customs list BTW ) then just about anything else.

Its just a machine but it sure controls my mood .

Is it possibly your blade has a tiny chip? It's almost like it's not getting a clean cut right?
