Wishful thinking
So when we found out we were expecting, i wishfully thought wouldn't it be great if DS was potty trained by sept when the baby came (he'll be 28mths). I'm not really doing anything towards the potty for him. But I do still get those wistful thoughts that it would be really nice if he was even remotely interested.
He loves to watch me or DH pee and has to flush the toilet for us. He loves wearing big boy underwear. Can hold his pee forever, but still pees in his undies. If he pees on the floor I make him clean it up and he knows where to put the rag after he's done. But he never wants to sit on the potty. He doesn't really talk so communication is sometimes an issue. So I'm just back to dreaming of having only one in diapers , but know that I'll have 2 in diapers.

Re: Wishful thinking
well, congrats on you impending baby!
maybe after a few months your little guy will be mature enough and realize that "babies" wear diapers and decide he's a "big boy". i know when i found out we were expecting that was first on my list!! i was in no way, shape or form interested in having 3 in diapers!! but they were already heading in the direction of the potty anyway, so i figured it could be done. we are in underpants during the day now, though jonas still won't poop on the pot. but progress is progress, right?good luck with everything!

Re: Wishful thinking
Thanks for the congrats, like I said before I know he'll be ready when he's ready. Thankfully no one has been giving me "advice" about the fact that he isn't using the toilet. Not that that would change anything for me at all.

Re: Wishful thinking
Is there anyolder children that your son looks up to? I tried to potty train DD a few months ago, and she's just pee in her undies... untill my SIL and her kids moved in... My sil was working on potty training with her son and DD wanted to be like him and wear undies and sit on the potty... it took off from there... Also try rewards if he sits on the potty and tries... is he tall enough to try to stand at the potty? My SIl 's son will only stand at the potty and not sit anymore..

Re: Wishful thinking
We did rewards and naked PTing, she was 30.5 months. Up until then, she would just pee in her undies or on the floor until one day it clicked with her. 2 in dipes wasn't that bad, lol! I am having to adjust back to one in dipes, yet it was only 10 months ago I only had 1 in dipes.

Re: Wishful thinking
Well things have changed and we have started. We are currently using stickers and he loves his stickers. Since I'm pg I have to go a lot so I just ask him to keep me company while I go and he will sit while I go and most often he will too.
