So today dh and I went out on the boat, we went to see Jimmy Buffett. As we were walking from the dock back to our car, we stopped at a local outdoor restaurant to get a daqueri. We ended up seeing a friend of his and his wife, who we havent seen since 2003. They were flashing pictures of thier daughters on thier phones so we could oooh and aww over them. All of a sudden, my dh said "We're going to be adopting soon..." I was floored. No one knows that we're adopting really. And HE has certainly never said it out loud, at least not in front of me. I swear, those were the sweetest words I could hear. After so many m/c's ooohing and awwwing over pictures of new babies often leaves me jealous and/or sad... today I was beyond excited.

Just thought Id share. Its so awesome to know he is 100% on board. When I first found this board he was about 80% and I said I would never adopt until he was 100% and tonight, I knew it for sure. I cant wait for November so we can start everything!

On a side note: For those of yall who have used an adoption lawyer, what did you have to do? Did you need the reference letters? I filled out the application that his secretary sent me. It will be ready to be mailed out the day we return to the USA in early December. But Im trying to coordinate things before, as far as what we'll need... Profile book? If so, what did it consist of? Of course we'll have to do a home study... anything else?
