my sil called today, she is 5 weeks pregnant, and has been spotting-bleeding all day

she said it has been getting progressively worse, bright red, and has passed some clots that are getting bigger that went from being the size of a pencil eraser to the size of a quarter, but has had no pain or cramping. What really sucks, she just lost her 4 month old daughter to SIDS a couple months ago

She is at the hospital now, and I'm waiting to hear what's going on... but does this sound like a miscarriage to yall? I'm worried for her

Update: Well, I heard back from her today and turns out it was a chemical pregnancy

I feel so bad for her, she was so excited

How sad. Sorry to say that, yeah, it kinda does. There's always the possiblity that it's not but I know mine started with that and then the pain started when I was delivering the baby. I hope things go well and it's just a freak thing. Some women do have a period while pregnant. I hope she and baby are OK.

Sorry to say that it sounds like it. Those were my symptoms when I mc'd at 6 weeks. Hopefully it's not though. Prayers her way.

That's not sounding good. If it were light spotting or even brown spotting I would say try not to worry but the fact that it's bright red and she's passing clots is not a good sign.

Im so sorry to hear about her losses. This has gotta be tearing her apart

It doesn't sound promising to me either, especially with passing clots of that size. I will be thinking of her. So sorry for her loss!

Unfortunately it most likely is a miscarriage.

How awful for this poor Mama. I'll keep her in my prayers.

I was thinking the same thing. She called earlier to ask me about when I had bleeding with my first son, but it was much different than this and I didnt really want to tell her it sounded like a miscarriage. I was afraid this would happen, it is early still and so many things could go wrong or just not work out right, and I know the kind of stress she is going through isn't very healthy for a pregnancy, especially one so close to the last one. I was really hoping things would turn out better for her, this is two losses right after the other

Hopefully someone calls me and lets me know what is going on tonight (they are in AL).
