my boys have only worn soft shoes so far, but now that its time to think about colder weather im coming up short on what i should get for them. heavy clunky boots will be hard to walk in, but soft shoes are not warm or water proof enough. what to do?

they are almost 1, and one is fully mobile, the other is just starting to walk.

I dont know what the Soft shoes are, but with DS since he was born in the winter, I out crib shoes on him when we went out they were soft soaled and flexible. Nothing but socks while at home.
As soon as he started walking I got infant tennis shoes, low cut tops with hard rubber soles that he only wore when on the floor walking or when we went out.
While in the walker, high chair, sleeping I took them off. He wasnt very fond of the shoes so he would normally take them off, but when he did I just left them off. If he took them off on his own the that meant he wanted them off.

Now.... (hes 3) he has shoes on all the time and wont take them off until its time for bed.

I bought a pair of baby UGGS for my 12 month old. The PP's links are extremely similar and alot less expensive. I wish I would have seen those first. Still might buy a pair. LOL!!!!

thanks for the ideas. we just got our one step ahead catalog the other day, so i guess i better take a min to look through it. those boots look perfect!

Getting moccasin boots here for DD. She won't be walking for a few months yet (I HOPE! she has already started cruising all over!) I actually just tried shoes on her for the first time and her feet are still so tiny!

sheepskin "slipper" mocs sprayed with camp dry. But mostly just the soft shoes. DS will be TWO this winter and runs all over. But I carry him to and from the van, its faster and easier. Besides I won't do thick coats or snowsuits since its a safety hazard in the carseat. So I warm up the van and run the little ones out in a blanket. For the times when he is PLAYING outside we had mocs last year. He also has a snowsuit with detachable feet- leave the feet ON and you are fine for as long as a toddler will stay outside. They make soft boots too and I might look into those for this year. Maybe.

JoShoes can be ordered with a fleece liner for warmth

We love our joshoes and will be ordering slippers soon (new items the mama makes)...
Jody custom makes her shoes and will do it to fit your babies feet (my little one had WIDE feet and we couldnt find shoes to fit, so Jody made them with the measruements I gave
