My Mood:
s/o ? Anyone have a child diagnosed with reflux as a toddler?

I have always thought that my DD has reflux since she was a constant spitter and never has slept good. She still spits up some at 17 months. She wakes up screaming several times a night.

My dr always kinda blew me off when I would question it because she never had weight gain problems or anything. She was always a chunker.

But she still is waking up and arching her back like crazy. I wonder if it is just b/c she hates to sleep or if she is in pain. She is often screaming while she is doing this.

Re: s/o ? Anyone have a child diagnosed with reflux as a toddler?

My son was diagnosed shortly after birth and still has issues with his reflux at 18mo. Our ped when he was born always blew me off about his symptoms (it was the neonatologists in the hospital that diagnosed him during a hospital stay), he said he was growing so he was fine and we should get him of his reflux meds. We tried that, he was in misery. Finally at the end of January we got to see a Pedi GI and then in May we switched Peds. Our new ped is quite supportive of keeping him on the meds and coordinating care with our GI. I would highly suggest seeking a referral to a specialist, it could make a world of difference in helping your DD.

Corey, at 18mo is still a horrible sleeper, he always has been. His reflux is pretty well controlled by the Prevacid he is on (we started on Zantac, went to Pepcid and in June we switched to Prevacid) he really doesn't eat much for solid foods, most days its nothing at all. The solids really flare his reflux, even with the meds.

Sorry to babble, I hope that you are able to get some help and relief for your DD

My ds was diagnosed at about 3 weeks. He is 2 and a half and still has reflux. It does sound like your dc has reflux. Sounds like she is in pain. I would get a second opinion and push the doctors to do something.
