Bathtime?

So, I got to thinking about this while I was giving my son a bath just now... do y'all let your kids bathe then play or play then bathe in the tub? I usually let my son play then I bathe him right before he gets out... I have a few reasons behind this:
1. I don't want him playing and drinking dirty water that came off his body.
2. When I wash his head I don't want him to be cold with a wet head.

Anyone else think this indepth about such mundane things as bath time? Or am I the only weirdo who cares? LOL

*poll coming if i can figure it out*

We bathe then play. Dd loves to play in the bath but when she's done, she's done and she immediately wants out to the point you can't keep her sitting and she trys to climb out herself. She is probably only in there 10 min. and when she plays she splashes enough to keep her whole self drenched so she doesn't have a chance to get cold. Dh taught her to splash so now bath time is all his.

Re: Bathtime?

We play then bathe. Mainly because after I've washed them off I'm tired and want them to get out and go to bed. No in depth reason for it all.

I also let them play then bathe. I don't want them playing in the dirty water either, although, I figure once their "dirty" body is in the water, it's getting the water dirty. The bigger reason is I don't want they playing in/drinking ('cause you know how kids are ) the soapy water. Plus, it's like it brings the bath to an end. Just my

We sort of do both at the same time. I don't really worry about him drinking the water that's been on his body because I figure as soon as he hits the water it's become "dirty." Really though, I'm probably the least germophobic person on the planet. We have been known to pick up and eat things that fall on our kitchen floor.

Bathe then play. He HATES being washed up. So I do it quick, and then he can spend the rest of the time playing.

Play than bathe here. The kiddos play together for quite sometime, and then get cleaned up. We do have to watch to make sure they dont get ansy to get out, Elli can be a PAIN to clean if she does. However, I think baths are just a summertime thing for her, she usually prefers the shower.

Re: Bathtime?

Normally we play then bathe. Not a super great reason behind the way we do it though..I just let them have fun, then I bathe them, they play some more and then we get out.
