Am I the only one that is fed up w/ newbie sellers posting in FSOT asap?

I was a member for a year before ever posting. When I finally decided to post I just jumped right in not with an intro but rather into conversations.
When I bought my first diaper here I had 0 feedback anywhere. I've had no problems buying or selling since then.
IMO it's one thing to be upset and gripe about the recent scams on DS, but to get all in a tizzy over people not posting intros is just petty.

Although I don't understand the strength of the OP's feelings on the subject, I do think that she has a good point. It is reasonable, IMO, to want to know a little something about the person you are considering giving your money, name, and address too (even though a seller could obviously lie in an intro).

I appreciate the point, and I will post an intro before I attempt to sell anything.

Thanks for bringing this up! As a newbie, it is nice to know how ppl feel, esp if it might inspire more confidence in me as a seller in the future.

As a "newbie" I will say that this forum is a little confusing. I posted soom Robeez for sale and couldn't upload pictures because they were too big...some nice DS Mom put them on there for me and told me how to.
I don't really feel the need to write an intro though. Honestly, I've never even gone into the intro section, it seems kind of like a waste of time to me.

personally I never even considered this was a "community" rather than a buy/sell/trade place. I too now go into the other discussion areas, but I don't think newbies are doing it on purpose. that's just my opinion!

I am kinda new and I could care less about intros even though I did make one. I am an admin of a local moms forum and we don't think twice if someone doesn't post an intro but we do have our b/s/t section set where you can only use it if you have over 25 posts. But of course we are not a b/s/t forum just a moms group.

BTW am I the only person that doesn't like the term "Newbie"? It kinda feels like your a freshman in high school again to me.

Its only a community if you want it to be. Some just buy and sell. When I first came here it was to sell my small stash. I had mentioned online to a few moms I knew who CDed that I was listing them on CL and ebay and they said, "Don't do Ebay - go to this site called Diaperswappers" so I did. I didn't start posting onthe boards until after I'd made my sales. DS is whatever you want it to be but that doesn't always align w/ what others want it to be.

Doesn't bother me. I never read intro's anyway. I do look at feedback though.

I am so lucky because I didn't post an intro and went straight to FSOT and started selling. People trusted me and I sold a lot before I even started buying! Granted, that was quite a while ago but just saying...

So, here I am a few years later and still haven't posted an intro and no...I didn't know where it was either. I didn't post in the Forum Q & A either and it was a while before I got up the nerve to post in Diaper Chatter or OT.

I don't even look to see if someone has posted an intro since IMO, that won't keep someone from scamming.
