Okay, my friend is 40w4d pregnant, and is sooo uncomfortable (as I'm sure you can imagine). The doc isn't wanting to induce till next Wednesday, so I'm trying to give her ideas of what to do to help induce labor....

All I can come up with is swimming...sex...walking...sex....you get the idea! I've never had this problem. Can you help???

All I was going to say is walking and sex.

maybe some heavy duty house cleaning?

None of it works unless you're ready, LOL. I've tried pretty much everything. Pitocin didn't even work for my sister, LOL! They are all good things to pass the time, though.

Well my DD was 5 days over due, she ended up coming the am that I was supposed to be induced. LOL

I tried everything and if that baby doesn't want to come out it's not going to.

That said though besides walking and sex, ugh I mean who WANTS to have sex when you are overdue LOL, have her try some

organic Raspberry Leaf Tea. It's a Uterine Tonic.

It has directions to help you "help yourself into labor". LOL

I have some and I am SERIOUSLY considering trying it out tomorrow.

You have to drink a decent amount of it though like 3-4 dups daily.

Supposed to help has worked for some it didn't for me with DD but I am going to try again this time.

Oh ya the only down fall with the Raspberry leaft tea is that tea makes you pee even more so it is a little annoying when you already go every 10 mins.

raspebrry leaf tea, and spicey food, a long walk, and sex - in that order LOL thats what did it for me. I was in labor 4 hours after doing said things.

I would say a good full day of house cleaning, a long walk and of course sex!

I think it's evening primrose oil capsules. I'll double check for sure, but you can poke them and insert them in the vagina or take them orally. Also nipple stimulation works well for starting contractions. She should OK it with her doctor first, but being overdue, I'm sure it would be fine to try. To do it effectively stimulate for ten minutes and then stop for ten minutes...repeat until you get good steady contractions. It seems odd to do, but it worked for me and when you go overdue, you're almost willing to try anything.
