Re: dr bronners recipes
we used the tea tree oil version of dr. broners when one of my kids picked up lice at preschool.
We got her hair really wet in the tub- apply a good amount of the soap and created a thick lather that penetrated her scalp very well- then we put press- and- seal wrap on her head and let her play in the teub for 20 min so the soap could just "sit" in her hair... then a thourogh rince -- the soap killed any live on to buy insecticideal shampoo (toxic stuff!) we treated her on a friday and she was ready to return to school on monday. I also use dr. bronner in the diaper loads too... I have used it as a carpet spot cleaner as well.

Re: dr bronners recipes
Dr B liquid plus baking soda is my favorite "soft scrub" cleanser. Works great on a bathtub ring or really dirty hands.

Re: dr bronners recipes
I know it's just because I was used to whatever conditioners leave behind in your hair to make it feel silky, but I could not stand Dr. B as shampoo when I tried it on my ultra fine hair. It felt to me like how skin feels after a soap leaves its residue- you know that not smooth feeling? And then it was so limp when it dried. I really wonder if I wasn't getting it all out?
Anyway, it made my skin feel dry too, but I was using it undiluted. I love it for around the house, just not on my body. Anywhere gunk builds up, Dr. Bronners is the stuff to scrub it away! |

Re: dr bronners recipes
bumping.. I just bought some of the smaller bottles of lavender, tea tree and orange. I found the tiny trial size at Target the other day and have been using it as hair/body wash and really like it.
So, anyone else got tips on how they use theirs? I am going to start using it for wipey solution. 1tsp with 2qt of water or so and a couple drops of TTO.

Re: dr bronners recipes
I use it for LOTS of things!
*Wash hair (just a drop) *Wash face (put it with a tad of baking soda, such a great feeling afterward) *Couple of squirts in my kids' bathwater, no other soap needed *Wash diapers *Mop floors *Disinfectant with vinegar, water, and TTO (I use this disinfectant on everything in the house and also to kill ants, freshen carpets and furniture, and probably more stuff.)
