What's the deal with strollers being bad?

I was over on OT, participating in the judgmental thread. I saw comments about folks being against strollers. Please clue me in as to why? I have to admit, I use my carrier mostly because I hate how bulky strollers are, but I wouldn't think twice about someone using one for their baby ETA: My dh loves the stroller, so it gets used often.

Thanks mamas

Not sure

I'm totally for babywearing but sometimes pushing a stroller is more comfortable/convienent (sp?). Like when we went to 6 Flags, the stroller was awesome! My kids were in an out and the bottom held our bag and supplies. There is no way wearing them would have been easier.

I think you'd only find that from the "extreme" BWers that would be anti-stroller. I LOVE LOVE LOVE our stroller and can't imagine not having one!! But sometimes BWing mamas can get carried away with their BWing ideas and make claims that if a baby is in a stroller then they aren't getting the love and attention they deserve. silly silly statements if you ask me.

I LOVE babywearing. But sadly we can't do it much anymore b/c my kid is too heavy for me (at 20 pounds LOL).
I know if I see a baby slumped in a stroller crying or with a propped bottle I'll feel bad for them. But only if the parent is ignoring them. Parents that use the stroller but still pay attention to the kid I have no problem with.

We love strollers here. I've usually wear my youngest and have my oldest in the stroller, but since I hurt my leg, I have both of them in strollers.

But yeah I don't get the anti-strollers either.

I am not anti-stroller but I am a little anti-infant seat. I agree with "carry your baby not your carseat" Some babies are in those things all day!

Re: What's the deal with strollers being bad?

I babywear and also use a stroller if it's going to be a place where we will be for a few hours like the zoo, I take both.
I wear both my 10 mos old and 3 yr old, I also just got them a sit and stand baby trend, I am selling my double stroller on my craigslist as I don't need it anymore and giving away my umbrella, i really love the new sit and stand..lol
I see nothing wrong with strollers as long as the kids aren't being ignored all is good. I think it's kind of funny how some people feel the need to belittle others for their choices, when in reality its none of anyones business as long as the child isn't being ignored..imo
