Lansinoh Latch Assist

Has anyone used this? I never had any trouble with my first two babies latching but with my last one I was having a lot of difficulty getting her to latch. My nipples aren't flat, but in the hosp they were. I wasn't engorged, it was before my milk came in. This might sound silly, but I swear it was the case...it was soooo hot in there and I was so hot that my nipples just wouldn't perk . I was putting ice cubes on my nipples to get them to stand up a little, and it was actually helping her latch. The nurse there at the time was being a real _____ and telling me that the baby should be able to draw my nipple out. Well, maybe that's true...but she wasn't, so I had to resort to ice.

Anyway, I found the Lansinoh Last Assist for if I have the same problem. Does it work well? I think its supposed to do the same thing a pump would do, and more or less vacuum the nipple out. Anyone use one and had success? I'd really rather pack this than my pump.

I'm curious too about the latch assist, I've always wondered about it.

i have one, it worked, its pretty painful compared to the pump.
