What kinda solution would you recommend for feminine odor? I've had a "different" smell since having DS, and I'd like to solve it. I am going to talk to my gyno (midwife gyno) this upcoming week at my appointment for a pap just in case it is a bacteria thing, but I would love to hear what you all have to say.

Re: Natural solutions for feminine odor?
OMG i have written this like 3 times now and something keeps happening!!! Somehow i just posted this on a different thread about wedding songs...i hope no one read it! LOL!
Ok lets try this again.... I bet its a bacterial infection, so i would definitely go to you Dr. what i have learned to NOT do is: 1) no fragrances anywhere near it! That means feminine sprays, fragrance soaps, or detergents, or bubble baths. You want fragrance free everything, the fragrances can cause a ph balance issue which is what causes infections. 2) cotton cotton cotton! Loose fitting clothing, and cotton, no liners, or fleece or PUL pads, or synthetic fabrics for panties it just causes heat and moisture to be trapped in and causes a breeding ground for bacteria 3) don;t douche, if it is an infection it will just push the infection further up and make things worse. I have heard of using vinegar soak, but i would talk to your Dr about it first. Best of luck, i know after i had dd, my whole body chemistry changed. There are times that i cannot believe that that smell is coming from my own armpits LOL!

Re: Natural solutions for feminine odor?
I am in the same boat! I feel like a walking stink bomb! As if being the mother of a small child isn't frantic enough, let's add smelling like you haven't bathed EVEN WHEN YOU DID GET TO!
I have started using family cloth, and I do have some monkey bits that I keep in a peri bottle and squirt on my cloth. When I am at home and do this, I have NO feminine odor at all. At work,.... well lets just say I am considering taking a travel bottle of solution and cloth in my purse. I wish I could come up with a natural solution for my pit smell.

Re: Natural solutions for feminine odor?
Me too! I do all of the stuff in the 2nd post, but I still have odor issues. Sometimes I use gold bond powder, and I also keep a mini spray bottle of diluted vinegar with some tea tree oil in my purse in case I have issues when I'm out and about. I also (warning, this is a way TMI thing!) had to carry extra panties with me for a while after DD 1 was born because they would start to smell SO BAD if I was out for a while. I always assumed it was a combo of sweat and very mild post birth incontinence (I know, another TMI- I never actually peed myself, but I just assumed I was seeping or something). But maybe I should talk to my midwife about bacteria.

Re: Natural solutions for feminine odor?
It is so good to know that I'm not the only one. I just have no idea what to do, and it must be pretty bad when my DD lays her head on my lap and says "I smell you mama".
Yesterday I took tea tree oil and put like 3 drops or so in a cup of lukewarm water then poured it on myself down there, and it seemed to help for a little while. I might just do this every morning and night until I go in for my pap on Tues. Any other solutions would be wonderful though.
