when stripping diapers with dawn

do i wash them with normal detergent first and then use dawn or can i put them both together or do i just wash them with dawn and no detergent when stripping. Theyre dirty right now so wasnt sure. Also would it need to go through rinses less if after the first wash with the dawn i take them out and rinse them by hand? How many rinses does it take to get the dawn out? Im asking cause we have to pay to use our washer so if i can save money by rinsing in the sink it would be better

Re: when stripping diapers with dawn

I always use a little Dawn. It wards off my stinkies! I find I need to rinse 1-2 more times that I usually do. It kinda depends on the size of the load. You could always run a wash cycle, the you get a wash and rinse for your money. Kinda like double rinsing, but you get more aggitation.
