Do you want to can them? I have a recipe for Pear Butter and spiced Pears, but they are canning recipes.

Pear crisp is good, too. Check out www.recipezaar.com

Re: looking for pear recipes

i made a great salad with pears.

soak thinly sliced onions in balsamic vinegar

Cut up pears and put them in a pot with sugar (alot and i use apple juice) simmer down untill they are in a thick syrup

toss the spring salad with the onion, blue cheese and pears (i you eat meat bacon would be good too) and sprinkle with walnuts, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, YUM!

Re: looking for pear recipes

Spiced pear sauce is nice for first solids (I canned a bunch yesterday for my 9mo old), and I also dry them in the dehydrator and make spiced pear fruit leather. The fruit leather goes FAST around here, though, as my husband loves it. And I just found a recipe for a pear tart this morning that sounds good, so I'm going to give it a try for a family reunion.

i made the pear butter today!! it came out really tasty!! i had about 7 pounds of pears. some were pretty ripe, others were quite hard. cored and diced them then put them in a pot with 1 cup of water and cooked until soft. i mashed as they cooked and then took 5 cups at a time to blend in my blender. i had about 15 cups of pearsauce. put it back into the pot and added 1 cup of light brown sugar, 1 t cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and a teaspoon of almond extract. simmered on low for 1 hour and canned 10-8 ounce jars. i have one unsealed spiced jar and another 8 ounces of plain pearsauce (for my toddler) in the refrigerator.

i have many more pears and going to attempt some freezer pear preserves and pear cobbler this week
