Question Co-Sleeping in the winter

This is probably a silly question
We have a 3 month old DD and we co-sleep. Last night was the first night it was cold enough to need covers. How do you stay warm when co-sleeping without getting DC overheated/covered? BTW DD is EBF and snacks off and on 2-4 times in the night. We still swaddle her or she startles and wakes herself with her hands.
Thanks for the advise! Karen

we just cranked the heat up. I was scared to use cover until my DD was about 5 months.

I kept DS in my arms, and he got very warm very quickly. I found that putting him in a light l/s onsie worked well. If his skin was against mine he would overheat quicker, but if I put him in anything heavy, he would wake up drenched. Sometimes I would even put him above the covers in my arm if he was warm with a light blanket over him. We adjusted every time he or I woke up depending on his needs. I just know we never used a blanket sleeper or anything while cosleeping in the winter. HTH!

We are co-sleeping with ds and he is 4 months. We still use our comforter, I just keep it really low on me and make sure it goes nowhere near his face. I have been thinking of just having dh and I use separate blankets, so it wouldn't go across the bed and there would be less chance of covering ds.

Oh, and we still swaddle ds, he refuses to sleep any other way.

We co-sleep with both our DC (2yrs and 4yrs) from birth and what we have always done and continue to work for us is everyone has thier own covers. When my kids were babies they didn't have covers really. In the winter I just layered thier jammies as needed. (the same as if they were in their own crib.)

Re: Co-Sleeping in the winter

We've always used covers. My kids have all been born in March and we're in Colorado, so it's a must here. I don't sleep well without something covering me. I would just scoot down in the bed, and have DC lay up higher so the covers were only low on their body. I'd just scoot up when they were ready to nurse

However, I think tonight we're going to start having a seperate cover for each person in the bed. Several times I've woken up to DD being compeletly covered, face and all. She wasn't being smothered by any means as it was a light cover and was just laying on her, but it was enough to send me into complete panic!!

I know that feeling! Ds still has to be swaddled and we use one of those Swaddle Me blankets from Babys 'R Us. Well, he is strong enough now to work his arms out the top and I have come in the room several times to find his face covered because he had his arms out. Scared me to death!!
