freezing green peppers?

My dad gave me about 8 huge green/red bell peppers (or mangos as we call them ).

Can I slice them up, put them in a baggie and freeze them? I don't think I'm going to be able to use them before the go bad and they cost so much at the store.

Yep! Slice and freeze, or if you want shorten prep time at the other end you can slice, steam for a few minutes, cool, then freeze.

Yes - we slice them or dice them and then vacuum seal them. I've never used regular or freezer baggies for them but as long as you didn't wait too long to use them I'm sure baggies would be fine. I just used the last of our frozen green bell peppers in pasta salad last weekend. We often use them straight out of the freezer on homemade pizza.

OMG where do you live? I think my mom used to call them mangoes when I was growing up....I'll have to ask her. I know it was something unusual! lol We both grew up in OH.

Anyway, yeah, I slice and freeze red peppers all the time and use them for pizza, pasta or fajitas. Works great!

I've diced some , and sliced some . It's so great to have on hand when needed , I don't waste any anymore . If I wanna do a stirfry , it's all ready to go , just dump in and you're ready to go !
