I will NEVER own a snappi again!

It's not worth it to me to own a dangerous diapering accessory. DS was in a snappi'd flat and sliding down the stairs backwards on his tummy and the bottom "teeth" of the snappi got caught on the carpet of the stairs so all that was attached were the top two teeth of the snappi (and only those little wings of his flat...kind of looked like a homemade EC diaper) and he got scared because he was stuck and stood up really fast. The teeth of the snappi tore out of the rest of it (it was still stuck to the floor) and the main, colored part of the snappi shot back up and left a HUGE instant welt on his thigh and there's now a nasty red mark(about 1/2 in wide and 2 in long!!). For someone who doesn't normally cry when he gets hurt, he was screaming for a while. I now officially REALLY hate snappi's!

for you and your LO.
SS that happened. We're not Snappi fans, either. Every being, both human and feline, in our home has been injured to bleeding by Snappis. We still have a couple around, but we've learned to be very careful with where we leave them, and always keep them covered now. Any sort of convenience factor is seriously outweighed by the injury risk.

awww poor guy. The Snappi can be scary. My dd has never been injured but I have! It slipped out of my hands when I was pulling it across and one of the teeth went right into my nail. On the other hand, Snappi makes it clear that they should always be used with a cover...

So sorry! Snappis scare me too--I don't think they are worth the risk.

Eeek, I've always been scared of them myself. I've cut my hand on them a few times, but still use them. I always make sure there's some sort of cover over the diaper because my son is so active now. I hope your LO feels better soon, mama!

DH is anti-snappi as well.. he got a big ol' cut from one once.. and he's just terrified that it could have been DS. But I agree, always keep a snappi covered.

I like my pins the more I use them! I have a hard time getting the diapers on tight enough with pins, but I'm getting better! I've never liked how snappis snap over his boy parts!

I'm sorry mama, snappi's can be dangerous, the teeth are very sharp. I have stabbed my fingers with them when my ds2 was smaller while putting the pf on him and trying to snappi it closed. please remember you must use a cover when using snappi's.

Sorry to hear your LO got hurt. I just wanted to point out to anyone who may be reading this that Snappi even says you should ALWAYS use a cover over them. That's actually why we started using pins.... so he could be coverless in a prefold.

I've cut a gash in my finger from using snappis. I hate to think of what they could do to an active little one. I cut the bottom leg off or remove that bottom foot to avoid that issue though.
