I get this all the time when I am out with my two youngest. I love to freak them out and tell them I have another at school and I am pregnant with my 4th! lol
Seriously, I think they say it because it is a way to connect with someone. I don't think it is always meant in a bad way, but sometimes it makes me feel like they are saying that I am nuts and I have too many kids, lol! My response is usually, "yeah, I know... I just love it!" Not everyone is meant to be a mom.. I am glad that my kids have a mom that is happy to be one and loves it

Having twins i get this a lot, since they are boys I get it even more. It used to bother me but not anymore. I feel bad for dd. Everyone says the same thing to her several times a day. "You must be a lot of help!" or "Are you the big helper?"
She just nods and smiles.

comments don't bother me either but I don't get them a lot. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I get the hands full comment EVERY time I take the dog and my ONE baby out for a walk.

to the OP. I think I know how you're feeling. I'm getting the same comments a lot lately since I look very preggo and my ds is in the "want to explore and touch everything" stage and my dd is a most days

Like you said, I usually let it roll off my back, but when I'm having a rough day, it's the last thing I want to hear.

I get it all the time but I don't think people mean it in a bad way. I think they are just acknowledging that you have a lot of children and must be busy. I actually like it. At least I'm acknowledged by someone for being supermom! I don't think people mean that they think you have too many kids, and should stop having them. At least I never took it that way.

I got this one for the first time the other day. Which is funny because I only have two kids.

I don't think it bothers me much. (Although it might if I heard it eight thousand times a day) Out of all the things a stranger could say to a mom, that one seems fairly innocuous.

Haven't read the other replies, I just had to say I get that ALL THE TIME. My boys are almost exactly the same ages as yours....I get the whole "wow all boys, you sure are brave (busy, special - but that ones okay ). and the hands full comment.....drives me crazy sometimes. I am walking through the store, two holding onto the cart one sitting in it and people act like i am being followed by a circus! It's kind of funny. I think some of it has to do with all the boys. The one that probably annoys me the most is "So, are you going to try for a girl next?" I don't try for my kids, they are blessings and I'm not doing anything to stop them from coming. I recently found out I'm expecting and I somewhat dread the hopeful girl comments when I start showing! When I found out my third was a boy, I had my parents tell a lot of people because I couldn't take the "I'm sorry its not a girl" He is my baby, don't they know I don't care??!
Okay, I got off on my own rant there. Anyway, I understand totally!

ETA: Just wanted to say, i don't mind it meant in a fun way, the kids are cute way....just when implying I have too many kids and must be crazy and what the heck am I thinking??? Thats the only time it annoys me, otherwise it's kind of fun.
