Does anyone know if it's safe? I went out to dinner with a girlfriend and we dined on the most awesome sushi!!! YUMMO! Now... is this safe for my LO, or should I pump & dump?

I LOVE sushi, so I had the same question. My OB and dd's pediatrician said it was not a problem.

I have been breastfeeding my DS for 18 months and we eat sushi allll the time. To be honest, I never even thought twice about....we have never once had an issue though.

I love sushi, and we eat it frequently! What I have always been told is that the greatest risk from sushi is food poisoning for you....thus dehydrating you and making it more difficult to BF while you are puking and sick...and just to eat at a reputable sushi place (well, duh, right?!) The other thing is to avoid fish that has a lot of mercury in it.

HTH! I am jealous of your sushi dinner...might have to convince DH to take me for a date night now!!!

I love some sushi - I just make sure to stay away from tuna because of the mercury.
