nursing tank sizes?

Hi mamas! Not sure if breastfeeding support is the best place for this, but I wasn't sure where else to put it to get some good feedback.

I'm expecting my first baby in January and plan to exclusively breastfeed for as long as possible. So I'd like to get some of those glamour brand nursing tanks from motherhood. I have 2 mediums that were given to me and I tried them on and they already seem a little snug in the bust.

Prepregnancy I'm a size 3-5 and my bra size today is a 36C (I could still fill out the C cup some more before going up another cup size though). So do you ladies think a medium is still likely to fit once my milk comes in or could I possibly end up in a large? Maybe it's too early to tell and I should wait until he gets here?

Any advice would be great as I really have no idea what to expect but want to have something to wear as well! Thanks mamas.

Hey, Amanda.

This is tricky since you have no idea how big your twins are going to get. You're probably safe in a medium but certainly not on engorged days. Plus it also depends on your comfort level with snug clothing. The immediate post partum jelly belly was NOT something I personally felt comfortable displaying for a good month or so after Izzy but maybe that's just me?

I think most BFing bra sizer specialists say that you're best off to start buying nursing bras, etc. after 34ish weeks. HTH a little.

Re: nursing tank sizes?

I might suggest with glamourmom having a mix of medium and larges. I am a "small" 36C and the medium I have is definitely snug. It's okay now but would have been really uncomfortable during the first few weeks of breastfeeding -- and I do feel like I would be fine in a large (which is really weird for me because I am used to buying size small shirts!).

If you had a couple of each size you could be sure of being comfortable in the beginning and both sizes would probably work well enough from then on...

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll pick up maybe 2 larges at the after thanksgiving sales to be sure I have something to wear for the first few weeks considering the motherhood store is not close to my house! I figure I'll be wearing them under things mostly, so this will at least be a start and then I can see how I'll change.
