Reid still nursed until 35 months and Faith is 16 months now with no signs of stopping

DD nursed till 18 mos. She self-weaned and I cried for 3 weeks.

DS is going to be 16 mos and will probably be going strong for a while. I am also preggo, due in Feb.!! I may have 2 nurslings.

any ideas from mamas?
If you are exclusively pumping, I'd just follow nutritional guidelines trying to nurse thru pumping as long as possible...as long as you don't mind pumping, great. If your LO isn't as interested in formula or substitutes when you try to wean, then child led might suggest you keep pumping/freezing an advance supply when possible. Good luck, that's hard work!

I was too uninformed with my first to keep nursing and didn't at all with my second. Now that I'm more mature and more experienced (and better researched) our plan is to let our son wean, with a goal of 2 years (minimum!). He's almost 1 (Oct 15) and still mostly nursing with very little solids. I see how healthy and good it's been for him as well as comforting and I can't imagine cutting it off!

Re: anyone else BF'ing after age 1 (or planning to)?

oh definitely.
#1 - nursed until age 3 when I became pregnant with #3.
#2 - nursed until age 2 through the middle of my 3rd pregnancy.
#3 - surprised me by weaning at 15 months, but I pumped what I could for him while pregnant with #4 and he still gets a few ounces of pumped milk per day mixed with rice/almond/hemp milk.
#4 - still nursing obviously! She can self-wean when she's ready.

Re: anyone else BF'ing after age 1 (or planning to)?

DS1 is still nursing, he turned 3 in Aug. DS2 turned 1 in Sept and he will be allowed to nurse as long as he wants as well. DS2 eats a ton of solid food, but so did DS1 at this age (now he's the typical 3yo picky eater lol) so I anticipate he'll be nursing for a while yet.
