Ok, now that I got your attention. Some of us on the GM daily thread have been talking about meeting up at the National Zoo. Any suggestions on a date? I figured we might want to pick a school holiday for those with older kids, particularly those in preschool so you would haven't to rush to be back to pick them up (and they wouldn't miss out). I don't have kids in school so I'm looking for the rest of you on suggestions for those. I know a lot of schools close for Jewish Holidays and Yom Kippur is next Thursday other than that I don't know of any holidays until Thanksgiving wehn I'll be out of town.

We could also do a Saturday or Sunday afternoon if that would be better. Tell me your thoughts. Any suggestions welcome!!!

hey! i think Columbus day is coming up in a few weeks, right?

Yes but I'm not sure the schools get that one off. Any mamas out there know?

yeah i dont know about schools but govt jobs are off.

Oh I bet Election Day might work too. Still early November so it shouldn't be too cold yet. If Explodes hasn't had the baby by then I bet she'll be in the mood to walk until labor starts

I don't know about VA, but here are some school holidays for Montgomery Co. MD.

Oct. 9 - Yom Kippur
Oct. 17 - MD state Teachers conference
Nov 3 - Professional Day
Nov 4 - Election Day

Ooooh that sounds fun, I dont chat on the GM thread, but have about...22.

I live in NOVA. I dont think my teething 5 month old would enjoy it, but hopefully in the spring time some of you mamas are still up for getting together.

For me any of those days will work. I don't have kids in school and I am a SAHM. That would be fun, like the zoo in dc...
