PLing and daycare

My 23 month old DD is pretty consistent about using the potty at home, but doesn't ask at daycare. They say they don't take her because she doesn't ask and I've asked them to take her to the potty if she is dry at diaper changes, but they haven't yet. Is this normal? Should daycare be able to reinforce what we're doing at home with this, or does PL-ing at daycare typically start much later than at home?

I am a daycare provider in my home. In my experience they have happened at the same time. Once I initiated it here before they did at home and sometimes it starts at home first If this is a center then it might be different.

Thanks. I'm hoping to get her fully PL-ed soon. She has to wear sposies at DC and they're getting expensive!

They should start PL when you ask them too. Especially if she's in a PL class. She shouldn't have to ask. I'd talk to the teachers and the directors and ask them to put her on a potty schedule. Or just send her to school in trainers/undies and let them know they need to take her potty.

Thanks. The lack of support for PL-ing is just one on my long list of concerns about the place DD is right now. Just trying to figure out what's normal before I decide to move her. She's our first/only, and this is our first daycare experience.
