Re: What does it feel like when your baby kicks and is laying transverse?

Both of my kiddos did the same thing, I think because I'm a shorty and they probably had more room to move that way! I always felt movement on my left side near my ribs, usually at night (of course) when I was trying to sleep. Babies move a lot when they're in there, so even if your baby is transverse, you have plenty of time for them to get engaged. My son was transverse 4 days before he was born and he still managed to move into position...I still don't see how!

The kicks are in the same place that my elbow hits at my waist when my arms are straight down....

Re: What does it feel like when your baby kicks and is laying transverse?

By transverse you mean sideways right? The MW told me last time I went that he was transverse...which means sideways. I'm not all up on the terms. I feel my baby kicking majorly on the right side of my tummy and underneath my right rib. He kicks so hard and so often I'm sure there's got to be some internal bruising in there...it hurts!

Re: What does it feel like when your baby kicks and is laying transverse?

He may be transverse, but my baby kicks a lot of my side and he is head down. It could be the way he is folded, like head up or down with his legs folded to one side. Does that make sense?

Re: What does it feel like when your baby kicks and is laying transverse?

My baby is vertex (head down) and kicks/stretches usually on the right side between my hip and ribs. I can usually feel her bottom under my ribs on the left side when she stretches her legs out straight.

I was worried about her being breech or transverse earlier, I couldn't remember where my other DD kicked and was thinking I should feel feet in my ribs vs. sides. This one has been vertex for several weeks (now almost 33 weeks). I can distinctly feel her head above my pubic bone.

I do not know what position out little girl is in, but she was breech at 20 weeks.
Anyways, I feel a TON of kicks in the exact same spot. There is still lots of time (although only 11 weeks till Christmas) so try not to worry.

My baby is head down but transverse and I feel a lot of kicks on my right side near where you described and the bottom of my rib cage.
