Help! my ds doesnt like my baby food
I started making my own baby food for my 6 month old. I've tried carrots and peas, which he normally likes from the jar, but not mine
. I can definately see and smell the difference of mine, it is brighter in color and smells stronger. He does like the sweet potatoes, apples and bananas tho. Is there a trick to peas and carrots? Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: Help! my ds doesnt like my baby food
DD's never had jarred bay food, but she dislikes most of the foods I offer her, too. She only like bland tastes like banana, sweet potato, cereal and avocado. Maybe try those till your DC taste buds get used to the stronger flavors. So far. DD gags at pear and butternut squash. I went to try green beans since they're pretty bland, but burnt them while putting DD down for a nap.
That's my next try, tho. (And freeze those foods DC doesn't like--DD hated rice cereal, but I reintroduced it the other day and she ate it np.

Re: Help! my ds doesnt like my baby food
You can also serve 90% applesauce with 10% peas on the spoon - eventually the new taste might grow on her? (Worked for my 3!)
And definitely freeze the extra - my babies changed their "likes" and "dislikes" about every 10 days at that age. (Actually, they still do . . . )

Re: Help! my ds doesnt like my baby food
Maybe water the carrots down? I know when I read the ingredients on the jarred food its something like 10% carrots and 90% water!

Re: Help! my ds doesnt like my baby food
Easy peasy -- just mix it with a cube of potato
For DS, I started with 2 cubes potato, 1 cube new and then upped it slowly. The potato really tones down the flavor.
