IDK...I had impetigo not long ago, and mine didn't look like that. Here are some pics of the start and worse of mine.

Please excuse the way I look, I had been sick for 10 days with a HORRID virus, ened up in the hospital for IV fluids, twice. I'm pretty sure thats where I picked up the impetigo...

Heres day 1. I felt two small bumps when I woke up that morning, then 3 hours later this is what it looked like:

day 3

Day 4. It stayed like this for a good week.

Once it started to heal:

I was absolutly misurable! I could not eat or anything. I had to stear clear of my kids. I did not want them to get this.

I hope that this is not what your DS has. It's very painful! I cried like a baby.

I hope your LO gets better soon, poor little man!!

You poor mommy and that poor babe! My younger brother struggled with this for most of his childhood. He forever had bleeding lips because he picked at them. He eventually outgrew it. Hopefully your Dr. will have some suggestions for you!

My DD is 4 and she is a habitual chapped lip picker. Her issue is she sucks her thumb still. We use lanolin on her lips.

Well, he has an infection. They gave us bactroban ointment to put on his lips. When I picked him up from school, he had a rash on both corners of his mouth and on his forehead. I hope we caught it in time to use just ointment. The doc said to keep him from picking it. Um, ok, easier said than done.

That looks so painful! AT least you know what it is now. I wanted to let you know too that I am allergic to certain toothpastes (crest and colgate) and it make my lips really really chapped maybe thats why they were chapped in the first place?

Awe! I hope that he feels better, soon. Bactroban works pretty fast so hopefully he will be all better soon. Poor guy, I know how he feels. It's really painful!
