I haven't had a chance to read through all the replies but wanted to jump in right away and tell you NOT to use chapstick. Especially the ones that are red/black and say chapstick. I had a dr that told me that it only makes chapped lips worse. And after bfing, I now know that I can use lanolin. Obviously, his is infected so you'll need to treat it first, but afterwards, how about using some lanolin? I use it on both the boys and have had great results.

Poor baby. I hope he's better soon.

Poor little guy, yea I see your update that was exactly what I was thinking. My oldest son is prone to scratching and getting infected so we keep bactoban around. He gets staph often in bug bites... ew.

His lips look SOOO much better this afternoon! I think the infection is all gone, and we're just dealing with scabs now.

Lansinoh works great here for chapped lips, too. Last winter my son was dealing with chapped lips/cheeks. Everything else he said hurt when I put it on. Lansinoh cleared up the chapped lips with no pain!
