Re: Do You Nurse in Public?

I will nurse in public, but discreetly. I usually try to pick a bench (or where ever) where there isn't a lot of people. If there are to many people around, Keira won't nurse. She'll want to see what everyone is doing!

We do still, yes, if he asks. I don't offer in public, but I won't tell him no if he clearly needs or wants to.
He's almost 2.

My son is 17 months old and we still NIP. If I'm in mixed company and I think someone might get uncomfortable, I drape a blanket around his face to cover the little bit of breast that might possible show. I'm very proud that I feed my son this way. I don't let anyone try to make me feel bad about it, either.

I voted for discreetly, but I don't use a cover or anything. I just pull my shirt around my breast/tummy. And really, I do that because I'm terrified someone might see my flabby belly, not my breast! LOL!

I do openly and proudly. My daughter getting fed is more important than them being comfortable. Now that being said I dont flash anyone but Im not going to hide just to feed her. I have two other children to watch over

BTW our daughters were born on the same day.

This is us too. DS2 is 20 mos. If he needs to nurse while we're out I will. I keep my chest covered and sometimes have a blanket handy but usually don't use it.
I won't sit right in the middle of a big group but I don't go off and find another place either.

Don't mean to hijack but you should try a nursing tank bra! They are so awesome, you wear any shirt over it so when you nurse no belly (or breast)shows!! I wear one everyday.

Re: Do You Nurse in Public?

Ellie pretty much only asks to nurse when we are at home, so we don't really NIP anymore. I think we NIP'd proudly for about 18 months though, always ensuring that I was covered within reason, but Ellie never liked having something over her head.
