Re: What do you wish you knew then? CDing a newborn

Prefolds and covers, with a diaper service, for first month. I lucked out, because that's what I happened to get, and I'd do same again. Prefolds were basic cotton, nothing fancy. Covers were wool, fleece, or Nikky's cottons, with velcro or snaps. No special overnight diapers - I changed him when he woke to nurse, and he wasn't bothered by that. I had a summer baby. If I was having a winter baby, I'd get a couple/3 wool sleep sacks and still use the prefolds/covers, for enormously easy diaper changes.

that my nb could go coverless most of the time and i would just change him when he got wet...

we used kl0s and these rainbow stitched contour diapers i bought from the natural baby catalog...all the covers i had bought were WAY too big...i finally ended up using g diaper covers over my cloth...

I did not know my LO was going to be so big! And all the NB diapers I made for him, were to small! He never did wear NB!

I don't have much to add yet, but will be sure to check back in next month once LO#3 arrives and we start our cloth diapering journey. Anyone else?

I just wanted to say that you inspired me to get as crafty as *I* possibly can, and I used iron-on velcro to make some washcloth dipes myself! I'll have to take pics to post soon after my baby arrives.

That prefolds and a cover are the best choice for home since I'm changing so often and a few AIOs for outings.

That you can contain EBF poo in a PF just as well as in a fitted if you fold and snappi the PF, I didn't realize this and just tri-folded in wool wraps...very messy
