Amby Motion Bed Owners...
When did you switch to another bed and why? DS is 7 mo and I am starting to think of strategies for getting him to sleep in his crib. What was/is your strategy?

Re: Amby Motion Bed Owners...
I don't have one but I want one with my next child. I would think that getting them to switch would be the same as a child that has gotten used to going to sleep in the swing. Maybe you should start rocking him first to sleep and then putting him in the crib then when that works, start the transition of getting him to go to sleep on his own in the crib.

Re: Amby Motion Bed Owners...
I know this is an oollllld thread, but I was just coming on to ask the same question and hopefully someone else has some real-life experience with it! DD is 6 mos and just starting to get a bit restless in her amby...I'm dreading the crib transition, but think it might be in the not so distant future...

Re: Amby Motion Bed Owners...
I originally posted this thread and DS is now 12 months old and sleeping in his crib. We switched at about 9.5 mo. It wasn't that bad. Until recently we had an old comforter folded up in the crib to make it more snuggly. He just now started having trouble with the comforter restricting his movements. I would say the transition took about 2 weeks with him sleeping with us some nights. He really isn't a good sleeper though and never has been. The transition didn't make much of a difference in his sleep habits.

Re: Amby Motion Bed Owners...
Hmm, good to know. I think she'll be ok for transitioning at bedtime without too much fuss, it's naps I'm worried about- that's when she seems to need rocking and snuggling in more to get to sleep and a crib just isn't going to do that. I might set up her playpen in her room and see how she sleeps in that at night and keep the amby at night...kind of a pain in the butt to set up the crib if it's going to be a losing battle right now and we don't *have* to use it right now. She also just started rolling over pretty much constantly and I can pretty much guarantee that she'll be doing that in a crib and getting stuck, whereas she can't with the amby.
I love the amby...I sorta wish I could sleep in one too . It's too bad she has to transition out of it at all.
