Aquaphor - safe on CDs?

Hi ladies! I'm been MIA for awhile b/c my DH was getting antsy about all the fun CD stuff I was buying before our LO got here

Our DD joined us on 10/5 She was 2.5 weeks early and weighed 5lbs 11 oz But she is feeding great and putting on weight like a champ!

She is having a bit of diaper rash that got better when we put her in sposies and desitin.

Is Aquaphor safe for CDs? I really want her back in cloth.

I'm wondering if I had too much baby soap in the wipe solution? She seemed ok until I made another batch and I think DH added too much

We are using PFs and covers.

Is there another diaper rash cream that is safe for CDs that anyone would recommend?

TIA!

Re: Aquaphor - safe on CDs?

I would love to know the answer to this, too. Actually, I was wondering about Vaseline on prefolds (which is basically the same as Aquphor, but a lot cheaper). My DS constantly struggles with rashes/yeast, and my PED suggested I try applying a layer of Vaseline on his bum with every diaper change as a cheap alternative to diaper rash ointment.

I have been using Burt's Bees diaper rash ointment with no problems, if that is any help to you, but it is expensive, so I would love to find a cheaper way to ward off rashes. If your not as concerned with money as I obviously am, you could give BB a try.

I have used vaseline w/ my BG and had no issues. I just rub it ALL the way in instead of leaving a thick layer.
It has been 2 months and no probs yet.

wow! vaseline with bg's, good to know! i just use g-diapers with a&d if she gets a rash, usually after a couple diaper changes she looks good again.

I've used Aquaphor on my daughter A LOT. No issues at all. I REALLY love the bum creams that Northern Essence makes though, too.

I have used aquaphor, aveeno, and NE salve with no problems. We use prefolds.

If you're worried you could also just cut a topper (not sure what the right term is) of fleece and put in between your dd and the diaper. It'll double as a wetness layer too.

I would also go easy on the strength of the solution. Can youu rinse with just plain warm water on a cloth wipe afterwards?
