Yeah, uh he won't elborate and I'm at a loss. What would you teach him exactly and how would you go about it?

Hmmmm...we're talking about a just turned 4yo right? Does he know the differences between a penny, nickel, dime and quarter? If not, I'd start there, "this is a penny, it's worth 1 cent, this is a nickel it's worth 5 cents....." and so on. If he already knows the different coins and their values then try some role playing, play store or banker and any kind of board game that has money. Monopoly jr is a favorite here. I have some teaching money links but I'm NAK be back with those later if you are interested.
