Please keep your larger kids in car seats...

I wanted to share this. I got this off another board, and the mom who made this is asking it to be passed around. She is doing a great service by using her sons death to protect other kids. I plan on buying new car seats for my 42lb 4 yo and 43 lb 5yo for christmas now...

Its law in Maine that they are in seat until either 8 years old or 80 pounds, which ever comes LAST!

That mom is doing a good thing

WOW, that is awesome!!! I know i am guilty of pulling my kdis out as soon as possible, but now i am freaking out!! I live in a huge city and accidnets happen all the time. and there are many that die in them. I dont know how i will convince my daughters to go back in carseats, but they will really ahve no choice,... it will likely not be the first thing i put my foot down about because i love them, even though it will embarrass them..

Don't those laws include booster seats? I bought a Safety 1st APEX for my 4 year old so I could keep him harnessed to 65 lbs. Makes me feel a little safer.

We have very strict laws here in Colorado too although I can't tell you the weight limit off the top of my head. I think its like 9 years old or 100lbs. Not sure though.
