Re: Nursing to sleep

DD is 18 months and is still NTS for bed and naps. At times, she will pull off and roll over to go to sleep. She sleeps in a full size bed.

Re: Nursing to sleep

I nursed DD to sleep until she weaned at 20 months. DS is 17 months and nurses to sleep for naps and night. He also still wakes to nurse at least once at night (DD slept through the night at 11 months).

We do what feels right for us, and I know from experience with 6-yr-old DD that kids will eventually fall asleep on their own. Nursing or rocking my babies and toddlers to sleep is one of the most joyous moments of my day, and those days are so limited before they grow up. I let others criticize or roll their eyes all they want - but inside I know they are missing out on some of the BEST moments as a mother and as a parent.

DH will also rock DS to sleep for naps or in the middle of the night sometimes and he loves it as well - cuddling up the little guy who will soon be a BIG guy pushing away his parents LOL.

Mine did as well. It was very easy to get them to sleep! My dh would give them a bottle when I wasn't home, but then zonked out with the bottle too! I never had a hard getting my kids to bed. LOL

I nurse my 6 week old to sleep. I also did this with my other son, until he was over a year old.

Re: Nursing to sleep

My DD is 13 months and still NTS every nap and every night. I love it because she falls alsepp so easily and I get to cuddle with my very active baby. As far as what other people say, don't worry about it, you are the one doing the nursing so if it works for you do it.

Re: Nursing to sleep

My two year old is still nursing to sleep! I don't care what others think it works for us. I enjoy the quite snuggly time with her. They grow up so fast anyway.

Re: Nursing to sleep

I nurse DS to sleep for naps and night. He often falls asleep on his own for naps, but likes to NTS at night. I'm going to do it until it no longer works for our family. We co-sleep so no problems here.

Re: Nursing to sleep

Liam nurses to sleep for naps & bed. He's 17 months. He'll stop sometime, and I'll miss that quiet time together.
