How do you like to make yogurt?
Need recipes that do not require a yogurt maker.
Links or recipes would be great. TIA! |

Re: How do you like to make yogurt?
oh, it's super easy. I just made some this weekend, actually.
*heat 5 cups of milk (I use whole) to 185 degrees and let cool to 110 (I use a candy thermometer and stir it every 5 minutes or so). *add 1/4 c yogurt with active cultures (it'll say on the container if it's got active cultures or not) with a wire whisk. My mom adds about a cup of dry milk to help it thicken at this point, I haven't tried it yet. *cover with saran wrap, punch a few holes for ventilation. *let sit 5 hours or so *refrigerate overnight, stir in any sweetener or flavoring you want, and enjoy. Is good for at least a couple of weeks, and you can use that batch to make more. |

Re: How do you like to make yogurt?
Thanks! That does sound super simple . . . way more simple than the way a friend of mine told me that she does it. I may just have to try that this week.
