Using rice cereal in my purees

Hi all-
I've been making my own single ingredient purees and loving it. My son, however, is enjoying double/triple ingredient foods from Earth's Best. I'd like to begin making some of my own multi-ingredient purees now and want to know if anyone has used rice cereal in making their purees and then freezing it. I'm a fan of the Super Baby Food book, but as a working mom, just don't have time or inclination to deal with making my own porridge to mix in. Also, have any of you made/frozen purees using chicken? How did you prepare and then puree your chicken? Did you steam it, bake it, or boil it? Do you add fresh water to it when you puree, rather than the water you used to steam/boil? Thanks for the help!

Re: Using rice cereal in my purees

I boiled chicken cubes and carrots till they were super soft almost mush and then pureed it with some of the broth till it was thin enough for the baby. HTH! Rice cereal is perfectly fine to use but I wouldn't freeze it. I am sure freezing it would be okay but I personally wouldn't. HTH!
