Wanting to wean...
I want to start weaning dd(16 months) but the main issue is that she doesn't really drink from a cup that much and isn't a fan of milks. She doesn't like cow's milk and seems to like lactaid a little better but still hasn't drank even a full cup of it. She is down to about 4-6 nursing sessions a day and completely night weaned. I'm just looking for the next best step. I feel like I'm at my wits end

Re: Wanting to wean...
Where you're at now, I'd try a 'don't offer, don't refuse' policy.

Re: Wanting to wean...
basically give it to her if she wants it? Otherwise don't worry about it?

Re: Wanting to wean...
As long as she has 3-4 nursing sessions in 24 hours you don't need to worry about any extra dairy.
![]() I have decided to start weaning my 18 month old. I just cut him back to morning, lunch and dinner. He also eats a yobaby yogurt most days. I just introduced milk in a sippy cup and he will drink a few ounces. So, I wouldn't worry about the nutrition side of it as long as she gets 4 servings of dairy a day (breastmilk, cheese, yogurt, cow milk-all count). Here is what I am doing (no flames this is not child led weaning ). I personally decided which nursing sessions to keep. Now if he tries to lift my shirt at any other time I offer snacks, water, toys, or an activity. I have also gently told him "It's not time for nursing" or "all gone" if he persists. He has actually done VERY well! I just started Saturday, though. LOLIn a few weeks I hope to eliminate the lunchtime nurse. It also helped me to write out a schedule to refer to with meals and snacks written out. My goal is to keep him full and satisfied.

Re: Wanting to wean...
I'm jealous you have her night weaned! My alomost 17 month old still wakes a lot to nurse at night.
I'd also go with the "Don't offer, don't refuse" plan. Have you tried soy milk? |

Re: Wanting to wean...
I use meyenburg goat milk(powdered) very convenient! vitaminshoppe.com. My LO loves the taste and I love that it's so close to breastmilk and so natural! I also add infant liquid vitamin drops to it.
