Re: plain rice cake as finger food for 9 month old?

yep, I give my kids brc all the time, they love them.. they actually 'dissolve' pretty well and are easily mashed up with gums (if they don't have molars).
Like the PP said, just break them into little bits.

They are a GREAT snack! They dissolve so easy, and my lo loves them. Much better than the Gerber snacks!

My 10 month old has been eating rice cakes for a few months. They have super thin ones at the natural food store and I just give her a little piece. She has no teeth and is good at mushing it up in her mouth.

i would be concerned about the sodium content. don't they have a lot of added salt?

The ones I buy are Lundberg brand Brown Rice Organic Rice Cakes. I found them at Kroger in the "health food" section. The only ingredient is organic whole grain brown rice. They are salt free, gluten free, wheat free, and vegan.

Before I found those, DS had a few of the Quaker unsalted plain ones. I was so excited when I found whole grain ones though!
