Re: How much does a delivery cost?

We paid 13.96

The bill was originally (after insurance paid their part) was like 3 something epidural NOT included in that.

We qualified for low income family some thing or other and only ended up paying 13 bucks.

Re: How much does a delivery cost?

i had medicaid for most of it, but for a prenatal (i only went to 6 total) and a us it was over 250 alone...
theres no way in heck i could have afforded the hospital i went to, and everything else...wow. and i went to a clinic in a rural area with a sliding scale, i make NO money, and the sliding scale was still almost 100 for 1 appt, the rest ended up being taken care of. so crazy!!
this time im not sure what im doing, but i had better figure it out soon. :sigh:

I pay a $1,000 and then 10% after that. For my vaginal twin birth it was (I just paid the bill, LOL) $1.154.71 to the hospital. My insurance covered the doc bill 100%

Re: How much does a delivery cost?

I had a C-Section with Grace and even with "good" insurance, I am STILL making payments - The total hospital bill including the OB (not including the $2400 out of pocket for the midwives) was around $4,000

Re: How much does a delivery cost?

I paid $10-$15 for my dd #2. I would really like to do a homebirth next time and I just found out that it would cost between $1500-$2000, so I am having a hard time conveniencing my dh.

Re: How much does a delivery cost?

Our insurance doesn't cover anything, so we are self paying for the hospital when I deliver in two months. The "standard price" is $10,500 for a vaginal delivery and $13,500 for a c-section. I called and talked to the financial advisor, so they are giving me a "break" and charging the reduced price of $4,500 for vaginal and $6000something for c-section (hopefully we don't need that ). The only stipulation is that it must be paid in full prior to delivery. This was actually cheaper than the freestanding birth center I spoke with! The whole thing has been sort of a nightmare. If I were you I would call the hospital and see what they say, I think they are all different. Try to talk to the financial advisor and see what he or she says, they should be able to tell you the exact price. HTH!!!
