It really depends on how much escapes when you use your diva cup. Some people are ok with a layer of BV and a layer of fleece, others have said that's not enough. When you bought sposies, if you bought the paper thin ones (like me) i'd just do a layer of BV and a layer of fleece. If you bought something that was labeled as a liner but had some depth to it you might want to add a layer of BV, Bf or a thin layer of mf (the cheap shop towels at walmart). HTH. OH, and though I made them the same size as sposies originally, most of my testers wanted them longer. So I would go with a 8.5"-9" long and about 2.25" in the center. Ends about 3" wide for a nice countour. HTH.

Like the PP said, it will really depend on how much leakage you have.

You can make pantyliners that aren't really absorbent (like 1 layer flannel/OBV, 1 layer fleece), or you can throw a couple of layers of flannel as a soaker, to make a thin, yet absorbent pad.

for length, I find it's easiest to measure the length of disposable pad that works for you

What do you think about outers such as minky or polyester velours? Are they absorbent at all or just there for the feel good factor?

They're there for the feel good factor and to keep the material right next to your skin dry. Though I really can't attest to how well they work since I've never tried them. I think they prob stain less than a cotton or bamboo too.

How many mama pads do you need to have? Do you change them as often as a disposable pad? (I.e. Every couple of hours?). Thanks! Good info.
