Re: Everything you need to know about mama cloth

I was wondering about making some PP cloth, so I'm glad I saw this! Great info!

Re: Everything you need to know about mama cloth

Maybe you ladies can give me some insight. I am trying to make my stash that will be used PP but be more of a heavy pad. Of course I am hoping for it to be fairly trim. Here is my idea...it will be a long pad with wings.
Malden Mills thinnest fleece (I emailed them to see what that would be) on the bottom, then I was thinking one layer of bamboo fleece, one layer of zorb, on layer of bamboo fleece, topped with bamboo velour. Or could I just do 2 layers of BF in the middle? Or just 1 layer of zorb 1 layer of BF? What do you think will be most absorbant and thin? It is going to be serged so I am not sure if that will incase the zorb enough (I have never used zorb or a serger).

i got some OCV pads to try out, they stained really easily and they were dark teal... i would go with OBV... it doesn't stain.. i have some that are completely natural OBV, no dyes or anything and they have not stained even a little bit... i don't soak them, either.. i put them in the wetbag with the dipes and wash them along with the dipes, no issues...

I would like to back it with something (wool, fleece) and add some wings. I don't have a snap press. Any other ways to close the wings other than a pin? And are wings really that much more helpful as far as slippage?
Thanks!
you can buy the snap press from joanns (which you can actually get cheaper at micheals and it's the exact same dritz press) that you use with a hammer.. it's super easy, and you just buy the regular metal garment snaps for it. i eventually need to get a real snap press, but for now it's working fine for me. and i think i may upgrade to a pair of snap pliers in the near future.

I've had some staining with my natural colored OBV.

Re: Everything you need to know about mama cloth

I'm thinking about making some pantyliners to use with my Diva Cup. Anyone want to offer their advice (size, layers, etc.)?
