hoping someone can answer this real quick

I just went pee and wiped and there was a big glob of what I can only describe as snot, stringy, mucousy snot. (tmi) I did a quick look in my pregnancy books but couldn't find anything. Do you think it was part of the mucous plug? I thought that only dislodged prior to labor and I am only 31 weeks.
Thoughts?

Your mucus plug can come out in different parts. Meaning, a little here, a little there.

It DOES NOT for sure mean you are in labor (not even for full term mamas). It's simply your body's way of telling you that labor is nearing. Be it 3 days or 3 weeks from now (not saying 3 exactly but just as an example).

I hope this helps, don't worry, more may continue to come out. Pay attention to your body though especially now. ::HUGS::

Yep that would definitely be your mucous plug! Just watch for any signs of labor and get your bags packed!

oh geez! freak me out why don't ya! jk

I really don't think I'm going into labor anytime soon. no contractions, no cramping, etc.

just never had this happen before, but I'll be paying attention to my body for sure. I'll maybe call the Dr. tomorrow AM

I lost my plug at 24 weeks with emma. i went 41 with her.
You rplug can reform. I would just call your doc in the morning. they may want to see if you are dilating at all..

yes, melissa is right. your plug normally regenerates. I had it w/ my 1st 2 but not my last because I was induced.

thats totally NOT necessary. it might be your plug, i started losing mine gradually at about 30 weeks. you could go over due. losing your plug doesnt indicate labor

Re: hoping someone can answer this real quick

It does sound like your plug I agree with all the pps about it regenerating and what not but also since this is your 2nd baby you may be slowly dialating. With DS I sat at a 4 for over a month and had lost my plug when I first started dialating.

Re: hoping someone can answer this real quick

TY. You ladies are great!

I called my Dr. and she said that with your second things are looser in there and it can come out in little chunks over time, that it will regenerate and that unless there is blood in it, I am fine. Which I felt prefectly fine, just wondering as I never had this happen before.

Gosh its funny though- I didn't think I was THIS ready for the baby yet, but now this has gotten me thinking...I AM! Okay hurry up 9 weeks!!!!!!
