So how many times do I need to wash things like new covers and fitteds. Is one wash on hot with two extra rinses and then a tumble dry enough??

Re: washing new fluff
I think it depends on the material and the maker. Surely whoever made the diapers prewashed the fabric to allow for shrinkage before sewing? The question is how many times (hemp needs to be washed quite a few times to get all the oils out). You can check the website for whoever makes the diapers and see what they say about prewashing before use. That's one advantage to buying dipes used, I just wash them like I usually would and check for bubbles in the rinsewater that would indicate detergent buildup. As for covers, if they're PUL, you should wash/dry once on hot to seal up any little holes from the sewing but that should be all. Fleece I just run through with my normal laundry. Wool is a different beast altogether!
