How many extended/ tandem nursers are here?

It seems like there are quite a few around this forum! I'm just curious, and trying to get a feel for the community here, so please share!

I am tandem nursing my two-year-old and eight-month-old sons. My toddler shows no signs of weaning (in fact, he nurses more than my infant!!) and I plan on letting them both self-wean.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Well, I'm not tandem nursing (yet), but I do have an extended nurser. DS is 17 months old and still going strong! We're trying to space DC#2 so that the kids are 3 years apart, but if DS is still nursing at that point then I do plan to tandem nurse.

Good question!! I guess I would define "extended" as past the AAP's 12 month guideline. So, you qualify!

I don't know anyone IRL who bf past 9 months, let alone into a second (or third!) year. And tandem nursing? Pfaa! The people around here didn't even know that was possible!

I'm currently nursing my 22 mo ds and my 2 week old ds. I've tandem nursed before but only for a couple weeks. I nursed dd #1 until age 3, dd #2 until age 2, dd#3 until 3 1/2 years and currently nursing the two boys. It's interesting nursing one little boy and one great big boy (or so he seems!)!!

Has anyone here nursed more than 2 kids..like triplets or 3 different aged kids? That would certainly be hard work.

for all of you! WTG Mamas!

I plan on nursing Tobias AT LEAST 2 years as recommend by the World Health Organization. Meaning I will do everything in my power to get us sucessfully to two years (right now we've got 2 months down, 22 to go lol)

After that he can self wean whenever he wants. If he wants to keep going past two GREAT! Past three AWESOME! I'm in no hurry to stop this wonderful relationship. I really hope we can make it to all of our goals.
